Although this question pertains to winch leads, it could be directed at welding leads.  I am running some #2 wire from the truck battery under the truck to some quick-connect Anderson plugs at the rear of the truck. A winch will be on a trailer with an Anderson plug allowing me to directly connect the winch to the truck battery to pull things up and onto the trailer. The cabling will be two separate pieces and was considering just zip tying them together every foot, or so and zip tying them under the truck every foot, so, alternating where the cables are attached to each other.   I don't think that will be any better than using Scotch 88 tape the whole way.   Wondered what you do with two loose pieces of cable to keep them together, but not waste a lot of time and money on unnecessary effort to tie cables together??Thanks for your ideas or opinions.Last edited by TxDoc; 02-05-2013 at 08:39 PM.TxDoc's Photos Lincoln SP175 PlusLincoln Power Mig 256Lincoln 250 LX Spool Gun Lincoln Precision Tig 225 Hypertherm 600 KMG 2x72 Belt GrinderBaldor 812RE Grinder
Reply:Tape them with vinyl tape and wrap one wrap of wire around at the tape and twist it. Twist ties should be considered temporary, very temporary. I have a bed winch on my truck and that is what I did, in 1989 when I put the bed on it. Stll good today.
Reply:Some truck TARP companies sell twin cable by the foot. Try TARP stop .comMillermatic 252millermatic 175miller 300 Thunderboltlincoln ranger 250smith torcheslots of bfh'sIf it dont fit get a bigger hammer
