I picked up a Harris model 355 flowmeter. I cant use it without doing a lot of changing things in my welding area. Well, I can, but the (tank) pressure gauge would be facing the wall. In view, outtput side would be about ½" away from the garage door hinges. this bothers me. The gauge sticks out a little past the side of the (125 cf) bottle. My question is:Can I simply take the input/output fittings & swap them?Theres no place/opening, threaded or not, on the back.It will be for argon. The tube/pellet/indicator is easily turned to where ever I want. I'm just asking before taking it apart. Its not a rush, I have a regulator type guage that came with the welder. Reply:You would have to post a picture at least. The flow gauge is the low pressure side, gauge high pressure side. I would say no.
Reply:You could replace the back stem high pressure gauge with a bottom stem one.  When you flip the flowmeter around, you'd be able to see the tank pressure looking down.  Not ideal, but I can't think of many options you have.  Usually you use that gauge only occasionally to check for adequate supply.Last edited by Denis G; 02-20-2021 at 01:11 PM.
Reply:I tried this on mine, you can't do it. I forgot why, either flow was directional or some other internal issue. Some places sell the same flowmeter with them reversed for this reasonTorchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Can you swap the location of your blow pipe and chanter and still play Steam Train to Mallaig? No, you can’t.
Reply:Inlet Outlet swap is a No. You can spin the gauge out and install a 90 degree fitting or similar. Or a 45 or 90 on the inlet but it needs to be a high pressure elbow. 4K #s to be safe.
