I was just curious if anyone knows if the esab qj28 torch handle is similar to the victor j28? Esabs website says it interchanges with the turbotorch. But the turbotorch is completely different. I dont think the turbotorch uses the same nozzles as the victor j28 So Im wondering if the esab QJ28 can use the same welding nozzles as the J28?At only $39 for the Esab handle, it would be a lot cheaper than buying an actual victor J28,if its similar..
Reply:After posting this question and getting no replies, I decided to call Esabs technical service number and ask them directly. According to Don Huggins at Esab, the new v-series Esab QJ28 is a copy of the Victor J28 torch handle. Hose fitting size is the same, and welding tips are interchangeable with the victor j28. There is also a 2 year warranty. The big difference between the victor and Esab seems to be the price. About $39 for the Esab. And over $100 for the victor, which is probably made in china like most of Victor products. |
