It was a long night, but I got these put together for a buddy's boat. Only a couple of pics for now. I may take a few more when I install the treads and get this thing out of the garage. 1-1/8" square tube. Approx. 1/8" wall. All TIG welded. About 13hrs. so far. Reply:Boostinjdm - appears real fine in the pictures.Question for you... looking at your equipment (Syncrowave 200, Millermatic 251 - spoolmatic 30A), you had a choice between MIG or TIG. Can you enlighten us why you chose TIG over MIG for this job?Rick V 1 Airco Heliwelder 3A/DDR3 CTC 70/90 amp Stick/Tig Inverters in Parallel1 Lincoln MIG PAK 151 Oxy-Acet

Reply:Yea, you can't beat the way AL looks TIG welded, and you did a awesome job. I get to make AL pump/turbine coupling covers at work every once in a while, and I always have fun doing them. Its always a challenge to keep trying to make the welds look better and better.
Reply:Nice work Boostin,You guys do "marine fab" different out there than we do here along the coast. We don't see a lot of "houseboats" here on the Cheasapeake Bay/Atlantic Coast.PS. Just a thought. Use of aluminum channel for the step treads may have sped things up a bit. What do you plan to use to fill the voids in the step treads themselves.Last edited by SundownIII; 06-24-2011 at 01:35 PM.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.

Reply:Awesome job Boost! Makes me wanna hop in the car and stop by for some tig lessons. It's hard to find a quality weldor, let alone someone willing to help, around here. Though there are alot of "experts" if you ask them. The closest I've been to you was Geneseo, hellinois."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:Looks outstanding from here Boostin'.You gonna tell stick that another 20 min from Geneseo he's in Iowa??? Geneseo LOOKS like Iowa... Just doesn't have as much of the clover smell in the spring.Matt
