Century Electric AC/DC Stick

I have had this unit gathering dust in my garage for a very long time. Does anyone have any information on it? If I want to try it out, where should I start, i have new, sealed 6013 and 7018 rods?Any help would be appreciated. I've done some welding with my Lincoln SP-135 and my new DVI2, but my stick experience is close to 0.Cheers,Rob
Reply:This an excellent machine and you'll have a hard time beating it for a straight AC stick welder with plenty of power; the nice feature is the DC is very strong and makes a nice weld.  Both rods you'll have no problem with.  I actually took the DC output and set up a TIG torch and it worked very nicely as a tig welder as well.Good machine, worth at least 200, maybe more.  they no longer are in business, may have been bought by Lincoln? but not sure.  But the parts are basic and if there's ever a problem it should be fixable.Only problem is it is an infinite range type of lever so you can pick the amps you want but it's not always easy to slide.  Have to get used to how to release the handle by squeezing and moving up an down with pressure supporting the whole lever, not pulling up or down on an angle.Get going with it and you will find it works very well, no reason to ever get rid of it as a stick welder.jbman45Century 230A AC/DCLongevity 200 Multifunction MofsetLongevity 200PI Multifunction IGBTVictor Oxy/Weld&Cut5HP 2 stage compressorTractor; tools and 40  years of collecting fine tools.

Reply:I've been looking at a machine like this one at a pawn shop, the problem is it doesn't have leads and i'm not sure what size would go on this model. Any suggestions?
