Welding bed ideas?

I'm wanting to build a welding bed for my pickup but I have no idea where to start or what materials ill need. This is my first big project and any info would help. Also if anyone could post some blueprints or something of the matter it would be helpful to thanks.

Reply:Are you going to take the pick up bed off or build inside the bed?You don't need any blue prints. Just take your measurements and draw it out on a pad of paper.

Reply:With mine I didn't make enough tie down points, and I'd like to have some more 1x1 holes for my chain vises. Just read around here, there are plenty of people who have done their beds and will show you anything or give you the info if ask. People here are usually niceGo Cards!!!!!

Reply:I frame beds with 3 or 4" channel down the frame and use 3" flat strap aross the channel. I put more pieces of strap between those right on top of the frame and out at the edge. That is valuable storage space though. You might want to put drawers in there like I did on my welding rig. Attached Images
