My Ship. Help me weld it please

My Father made this 30 years ago.  I inherited it while back, but one of my cats knocked it off the mantle and broke off one of the bases. I need to know how to braze it back together.  I bought a little Porta-Torch by Lincoln, but all I know how to do is cut with it.  The tip is a 6920-0,  I think.  Here are a few pictures of what I need to do if you guys could look and tell me how to weld it back together.  The weld was brass, not silver solder.  Can I just put the two ends together like in the picture and lightly heat them up till they melt together, or do I need flux and all that.Thanks, Cam. Reply:Hey Cam,Your best result would be to just lightly flux the joint & use a low temp silver-solder. That would avoid excessive heat to other joints as sil-sol will melt lower than a brass filler. Sil-sol is quite strong & would match the color fairly well.DennyComplete Welding/Machine/Fab. Reply:it looks like it was brazed originally, not welded..low temp silver solder with mapp gas should work and not give too much heat too fastOf all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
