Noseeum

I got an idea for this guy in early June, when the lightning bugs and the noseems are out in force.  Am using lots of poetic license on this bad boy because not many people have seen one (hence the name - LOL). They seem to only fly and bite so I didn't provide legs.  My wife wanted him to have an a-hole so that is why the washer on the back end.  She did the paint job.He is a little long in the tooth and strikes terror in my heart  Attached ImagesGordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:Very creative with your scrap metals. I find it interesting how many different styles and uses welding is used on this site. Thank you for posting the pictures as it adds to the whole community here. Also good choice of the colors.... I always hated noseeums. I haven't had any bites though since I moved from NJ to Orange county CA.
Reply:I like it.........we have them up here where I live..... I make critters from horseshoes, Rail Road spikes, wire, and nails, teeth off of old backhoe buckets......its fun to see what you can come up with...... Reply:The deserts of Utah and even some areas of Nevada have hords of the noseeum gnats. I think they travel in squadrons of about 100,000 or so. You can't seeum but you can hearum. Kind of a high pitched whine in the background just before your forehead, ears and other exposed parts start burning like they are on fire. I always pictured them like evil red eyed Chihuahuas with wings.
