Python push pull gun on older machine, is it possible?

I have an older lincoln 255 that I want to use for aluminum too.  It needs a control panel to run a spool gun.  I saw a deal on a used 25' python gun and was wondering if there was anyway to run that off my machine?  I know it must have some extra pins on the connector, but does it need anything fancy for power?  It has to control the wire feed, but how does it do speed?  If anyone has any info or maybe a wiring schematic for the python guns.  Thanks.
