Hey guys...So, ever since last fall, Ive been working on and off building a BBQ out of an old air compressor tank and a few other things around here, and last night I made it a new intake. I wanted something with a damper that I could use to control how much air goes in the thing, so I tigged this up out of part of an old John Deere cultivator I scrapped. Im a tig noob but I really enjoy it, even tho Im pretty limited to what my skills will let me use it for. I used my scratch-start setup running off the good ole' stickmate (what cant you make with one of those, lol), and was pretty happy with the result. Hope you guys enjoy the video, and the pictures. Constructive criticism, as always, is welcome. Thanks and have a nice day [Account Abandoned 8/8/16 Please Do Not Attempt Contact Or Expect A Reply]. See you on YouTube! -ChuckE2009

Reply:Great work. Its nice to finally see someone on youtube, particularly someone young, that goes about things the right way - PPE is important. When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, "This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know," the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives.
Reply:PPE is important,..... but where was it in the last part , when you were stick welding???you used it in the begining for cuttingother than that good work NOW LETS GET COOKINGidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tigidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tig #2 used for sticklincoln sp100hh125dual arbor grinder polisher30 yrs of hand tools52 pitch blocks 6p-26prake gauge -pitch gaugeG&D prop repair 918-207-6938Hulbert,okla 74441
Reply:Lanse:Thank You for taking the time to shoot the video and then share it on YouTube. I really enjoy watching the fabrication of projects as I learn a lot regarding how to make something out of spare parts. You were beating that fitting like a rented mule!Again, I enjoyed watching, I think you did a good job with the video portion, and a good job with the fabrication and the welding...
Reply:Hey yall!! Im glad that you guys like the video, I generally enjoy sharing the videos as much as completing the project. Ive got plenty more videos on the way & Prop-Doctor, I usually only wear a denim shirt when Im stick welding in position. Reply:If I'm smoking overnight I only like to run the temperatures around 180-200F. I've found that an air intake needs to seal fairly well to choke the fire down this low. You might try putting some machinist blue on the damper, then see where it hits the square tube. Then you can grind down the high spots and get a really close fit. When you get it fairly close, switch to sanding disks instead of lots of removal with the grinder.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE |
