7018 rod Dc?

I am looking at getting a diesel machine and noticed alot of them are Dc only. I normally weld 7018 ac hobart rods do they make a dc rod in a 7018 and what about 6010, 11, and 13?Vantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.

Reply:I've had an AC/DC machine for about 6 or 7 years now and can't remember using the AC. I would only buy another AC/DC if it was for tig. Reply:lincolns new 225 machines wich are replacing the ranger 10,000 are coming without the ac side on the welding. we are regularly getting rid of our ac selection. im sure we will keep a few in smaller packages. but yes the 7018 lines run better on dc. the buzz boxes we sell now people are get the 225 125 combo ones good idea for a extra hundred bucks. Reply:Just want to point out two things.  First AC will eliminate magnetic arc blow that is sometimes an issue with DC stick welding.  Second, if you are not properly storing your 7018 rod to maintain it's low hydrogen content, then there is no point in using 7018.
