Hey guys - been on here a long time but never posted any photos (mostly because I dont have internet at home).Anyway - I'm not a professional welder.  I'm 26 and a  manufacturing engineer who has worked at companies that build rocket thrusters - mostly for positioning satellites  - and building dispensing systems for missile systems/submunitions/etc.  I used to work as a welder back in high school and college building mainly railings but really anything that people could half sketch up on a napkin.  I also worked as a machinist for a couple years (night shift after working all day as a welder).  I really miss the hands on stuff now that I spend most of my life on the sidelines watching other people do the fun machining/welding/assembly work.  (no, not by choice, we're not allowed to get involved w/ that due to the nature of our products).  Back to this project, my dad needed a dollie for his camper so I built him this.  Works very well.  I'll probably go back and add gussets next year when he puts the camper back on his truck for spring camping, but it works great as is.  I tacked this in place using my MM135 then finished it with 7018 hooked up to my synch250.  By far the most expensive part was the casters - I dont even want to say how much he paid for those!!!!  Thanks for looking.  Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250
Reply:Definately would have done some gussets. Your camera did something wierd with that back rail. what size tubing did you use? There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:Ya, I should have but ... I didn't.  Anyway, the back rail is flipped because the camper hangs off on that end.  The legs are 3" x 3" x 1/4" and the angle is 2" x 3" x 1/4" I think.  I built this a while ago.Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250
Reply:I was talking about the long rail. look closely. it's not right. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:Ah, ya there is a little jog at the back to go around something on the camper.  Had to be like that to get the back rail far enough back on the camper.  To make that I cut the "flat" portion of the angle out and then bent the vertical part into shape then rewelded.  Probably would have been faster to just cut and weld but I wanted the challenge.Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250
Reply:Like that wheel barrow!!  Bob
Reply:LOL....my 5 year old saw that wheelbarrow and ask it that was The Flintstone's garage.....HEY HEY HEY YabaDabaDoo!!!!! WILMA!
Reply:ha - i actually found that wheelbarrow tub out in the woods when I bought my property.  I had some old 2x6's (maybe they're 2x8s - i can't remember)  lying around so I built some handles!  It was before I had my welders, otherwise they'd be metal!!Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250
Reply:They want big money for the wheelbarrows with the "lift kits" to raise the tub compared to the same kits without the lift. I'm not sure you'd like steel handles. We bought one with the steel handles to try. Most of the guys didn't care for it. The grips were too small compared to the standard wood handles. The only guys who liked them were the smaller guys because their hands fit better. They are also very cold in the winter. Gloves are mandatory with one. Wrapping the handles with bike tape helped, but the tape didn't hold up well to the abuse we put them thru..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
