Again, not much welding in this but it was a fun project.I went and harvested all the trees/peeled them myself.  Made this for my pup when I got her, obviously she's a yellow lab.  This was my first try at a log anything.  Eventually I want to build a log home and NOT a kit log house....  Thanks for looking.  Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250

Reply:Oh ya, it's nice and warm in the winter and I even custom fit a piece of 1" thick neoprene in there so it's not bare concrete.  She's a little spoiled for a hunting dog - and a lab that can't really feel anything....Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250

Reply:I built a small ( 10'x 12' ) log shed once. If you want to see a really great show that has some good stuff on a log cabin, try and get a hold of a copy of "Alone in the Wilderness" by PBS. Around me they usually show it when they are selling themselves, and you can get a copy when you donate to them then. He notches all the bottoms of the logs. I notched all the tops. Notching the bottoms is more work, but you don't end up with water sitting in the joints that was an issue when I did mine. He also does some fantastic work on the door, building the hinges from wood. It's a great show and I highly recomend it. This guy shows how well you can get along without all the BS many today feel they "need"..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Thanks for the compliments guys.  Netman, that is a beautiful house.  Mine will be a "skip style" butt and pass, just like the dog house.  Rhunt - there's neoprene on the floor - it's nice and warm!  Besides, Washington winters are very mild.  Her favorite thing is swimming in the winter - she'll bust through the ice when we're out pheasant hunting and swim around in the little ponds.  She's a nutcase....Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250
