Spent Labour Day Weekend working on PHC projects out in the garage.PHC #1I picked up a Lincoln AC-225 stick welder on sale. I needed some type of cart to move it around. It's basically a heavy box full of wire and isn't very portable by itself...I had an old hand truck that we've had for years. It was one we got from the brother-in-law so it was free.No before pics of it but it was very similar to this, except it had some rust on it in places...I welded on a bracket system to secure the welder with one bolt. Then I ground all the rusty spots down with the angle grinder and hit it all over with a flap wheel and 180 grit sandpaper, then gave it a coat of primer and two coats of red. Here it is drying...Here's the end result...The only thing I purchased for this was the paint & primer as I already had the cart and used scrap steel for the bracket.PHC #2I installed a Westin grill guard on my truck shortly after I got the truck back in '06. About two years ago, some rust had started to bubble through in sections of the powder coat. I went to a place that did truck bedliners and they gave me a rough estimate of $500 to clean it up and coat it in bedliner. So, fast forward to this weekend...I took the angle grinder & nylon brush wheel to the rusty areas. Roughed up the remaining areas of powder coat with 180 grit. Taped off the rubber bumper sections and gave it a primer coat. Then I gave it two coats of Dura-liner bedliner material. Here it is drying...Here it is installed back on the truck...IIRC the bedliner cost about $40...a far cry from $500.PHC #2.5Still had bedliner left over so the top tray on my service cart got two coats as well...PHC stands for Pork Hunt Club...it's for any projects done on the cheap or at least at great savings...say pork hunt club out loud, three times, quickly if you still don't get it..."These instructions are at our present level ofknowledge. Legal requirements do not exist.Technical issues subject to change."_________________________________________Lincoln MIG PAK 180Lincoln AC-225
