So, I upgraded to the next tank size (4' tall?).The smaller one read 2000 psi when full...this one does too. Does it just read psi, and not actual volume of the gas in the cylinder as a percentage? I know....greenhorn Q...Motorboating...in the Cleavage of the Tetons
Reply:PSI and volume are related. If a cylinder is full at 2000 psi, it's 1/2 full at 1000 and 1/4 full at 500. So a 100 cf cylinder would hold 50 cf if it's 1/2 full and 25 cf if it's 1/4 full.Volume is set at the rated cylinder pressure found stamped on the neck of the cylinder. A cylinder rated at 2250psi is full at that pressure. Different size cylinders however can all be rated at the same pressure, so you need to know what size the cylinder is to start with..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
