I am get ready to paint a awning that I built, the steel was covered in an oil or grease. I have ordered steel from this supplier many times and it has never been covered like this. How can I treat it prior to paint?

Take a piece of scrape and clean with what ever method/s you choose than try painting it, and see what happens...."Fish eyes" are going to be you worst enemy with oil and greaseWhat type of paint are you planning on using??Lincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st |
