Finally got some bottle carts...only a very small amount of welding to make them work so far.  I will be adding something to coil the OA hoses and hold the torch on the double bottle cart.  Can you guess what these carts were originally for?The carts:The chain links welded to them (and some boring pics of just the welds ):........................................................................They're book carts.  Got them at the Borders near my place since they're closing down.  $50 a piece.  If there's a Borders near ya and you need some bottle carts, my suggestion would be to go see if they have any of them left available --Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow
Reply:Those are cool.  I was going to build something similar a few weeks ago, and still might... especially since my tank is almost empty right now.  Might check Borders, too, but I think they are all already closed around here.__David Hillman
Reply:Got a bit more done on the carts.  Added on a hose and cap holder.  Actually was a bit of fun using the pipe notcher and getting this done.  Turned out exactly as I wanted and does it's job admirably.  Should be a lot easier moving the OA rig around now and that will definitely make my life easier. The only last thing I have to do is to remove the axle shaft that's welded on there right now and replace it with a longer one so that I can put pneumatic tires on it so that it's easier to move over my gravel driveway.  After that it's getting media blasted and powder coated.Enjoy:--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow
Reply:Got the rest of the work on my bottlecart for my oa rig done.  Cut off the old axleshaft, made and welded on a new one slightly higher up and a bit longer using threaded ends instead of cotter pins so that I could put pneumatic tires on it (much easier going over my gravel driveway this way).  Also welded pipe caps from Wagner on to the ends of the tube used for bottle cap and hose holder. Now this one and the other single bottle cart go off to sand blasting and then powdercoat. Here's the pics:--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow
