It's been so long - kept getting distracted. Here are some of the 'during' pics:http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=35924Sadly, all the structural steelwork is hidden. You'll have to take my word for the fact that it was beautiful. So it's not really a 'welding project', but at least it's a project. It's the spare bathroom downstairs. It was a tiny room just inside the front door. The washing machine was stuck under the stairs. So I blocked up the front door, took a couple of walls down, and made a bigger space. We don't have a front foor anymore, which seems to work out okay - friends know to just come through the gate. Before pics first: Attached ImagesYeah, I carry.House keys, wallet, some change, usually a newspaper, maybe a pen.

Reply:I like the crapper..How much weight will it hold before there is a mess on the floor?...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Glad to see you understand that color is your friends. Looks good. but now I've got to know, which part did you weld? There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:I'm not sure what weight the dunny is rated for, Zap. Might not take the average American. (Glad to read Mrs Zap seems to be on the mend.)Thor, yep we like colour. There wasn't a lot of welding. One big beam (2 channels bolted back to back) went in with a post midway along it and there is an internal wall held up by another beams that meets the big one at right angles. All specified by an engineer. That plywood box is now sheeted in FC and houses the laundry. Reply:Here's another pic looking out the window at the foot of the bath. It's nice having that window there. Of course, the dilemma is that people outside can look in. Doesn't worry me, but I've got a house full of girls so I'm getting some pressure to make a partial screen or something outside. Reply:man all the big numbers in MM and CM made me think for a min .... do use standard american measurements for anything ? or is it all metric .................................................. ........................... nice work by the way>Innovations are what i leave behind for History
Reply:Australia went metric in the 70s when I was at school.Everything here is metric (except for stuff that comes over from quaint countries that cling to the Imperial system like the UK and the US).It's funny, though, I still think of people's height and weight in the old system after all these years.Yeah, I carry.House keys, wallet, some change, usually a newspaper, maybe a pen.

Reply:I just ordered two big sheets of 18mm thick birch ply for my latest DIY project. They're 3050mm x 1550mm 'approx'. I queried the odd size and was told that the sheets come from America and they're 5' x 10'.My wife worked for Herman Miller - big US furniture company. Apart from some classic Eames et al furniture, they make a lot of work station stuff. All of it in inches. It used to drive architects and designers over here crazy trying to fit things like 48" panels into spaces they had designed to suit metric modules.Yeah, I carry.House keys, wallet, some change, usually a newspaper, maybe a pen.

Reply:OOoooo.......your wife worked for H.M.!!!! Good catch!!! I'd be abusing the shinto out of the emploee discount. H.M. must be taking a beating now that patents on the classics have been running out and the knock offs are everywhere now.

Reply:Our stock ply is 1200 x 2400 - close to 4' x 8'.That wood work in the bathroom is just plywood. Nothing fancy. I stained it and put a finish over it.The bath side and top surround is Corian - Dupont product. That stuff is amazing, though expensive - $2,400 cash price to get it done.Last edited by scott brunsdon; 09-21-2011 at 11:39 PM.Yeah, I carry.House keys, wallet, some change, usually a newspaper, maybe a pen. |
