Need your help identifying this welder from this horrible photo. This welder is for sale about 100 miles from here for 400.00. This is the only photo the owner currently has and it is at his other property. Owner received this welder in trade and does not know a whole lot about it. He said it does run and can start it for me. It has a 4cyl jeep motor. He says it is a Lincoln but the sheetmetal doesnt look like an sa-200 to me. Can you help me identify this thing? Thanks in advance.
Reply:I can narrow it down to Hobart by the current control, sheet metal and jumbo lift eye. I couldn't say as to the specific model.Good Luck
Reply:Thank you! With that information I was able to determine it is a 60's Hobart 450AMP DC welder. Thanks again!
Reply:You're welcome---------Would a Jeep four crank out 450 amps? I'd say choose one: more engine or less amps.Good LuckLast edited by denrep; 11-19-2010 at 11:06 PM.

Reply:Yeah I will be passing on this. I don't need that big of a project. I actually need to weld things, not spend my time tinkering.
