My Lincoln Precision Tig 225 Welder came with  4 gauge stick welding cables.  The cable with the clamp is also used for tig welding. It seems to me that the cable should be 2 gauge or larger.Has anybody have anything to say abt this?Jack
Reply:4ga would get you 150 amps 50' from the machine, more at a shorter distance.http://www.pacificcabling.com/Specia...rage_chart.htm.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:One of the first things I usually do with a new machine is change to longer, heavier gauge cables and/or power cords.   They always seem to work better with thicker cabling.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
