Why the 308 is mostly recommended to weld 304 SS grade ? If 308 and 308L are the mostly used for welding 304 and 304L SS why 304 and 304L filler rod exist ???Is that possible to make a good weld on 304 SS grade with 304 filler rod ?What.s the difference with 308 and 304 filler rod ?Calculator > Bevel Square
Reply:There's a little more Cr and Ni in 308. Helps keep the ferrite content in check in the molten puddle and help prevent hot cracking.
