Well, I bought a cheap HF can crusher a while back.  After about a dozen cans it folded up like a pretzel   So I dug in the scrap pile and whipped this up:4"x4" Angle iron 1/4"3/16" plate on the endsNothing fancy, but it works great!I need to make a larger one for the 16 and 24oz cans Miller Syncrowave 200MillerMatic 180 AutoSetHobart Airforce 500iVictor O/A (80cf)

Reply:Yeah, I would keep it simple also.We made the can rack out of 1/8" stainless cold roll. The test model only held a 6pk and we had to add a section of pipe to the top of the ram plate to keep the cans from wanting to fall behind it.We tweaked it a few times and got the demo rack working good.The limit switch took a lot more tweaking as the light cans wouldn't fall through it.We had to add a long arm and attach a shim as a plate near the bottom to sense when the rack was empty.It took a lot of trial; error and tweaking, but we finally got the demo working. Reply:I had ideas for building a can crusher that would work like an old wringer clothes washer.  Two dumpster rollers on a motor driven gear drive rotating on opposite directions.  Run some hard-facing beads accross the rollers to give 'em some traction to keep the cans moving.  A hopper would support a constant feed while the cans get flattened between the rollers!
