A couple of years ago at Memorial Day, we had a thread where Veterans could post your name, a little about your time in service, etc. I really enjoyed reading those and since we have a lot of new members and a lot of new Vets, seemed like we might do that again. Just add a post, pictures, anything of interest. I guess the welding aspect is we rode in tracks, trucks, tanks, planes, jeeps, ships, etc. and they required welding!!     Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com

Reply:As we approach this holiday weekend I ask that we all take a moment and reflect why we take this day off from our labors. I leave the pros to those so much more eloquent. " Dear Madam, I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.Abraham Lincoln. 21st November, 1864. Letter to Mrs. Bixby." Pleas share this before we all set off this weekend.
