Since I'm hiring some new help, I had more time to focus more on the advertising part of my business. So yesterday through out the whole day, I was able to finally put my website together. It's still not finished but I was starting to get inpatient lol. I'm somewhat limited to my knowledge with html code and photoshop but I pretty much designed everything from scratch. I linked my picasa web album to the website that way I can upload projects from my phone asap (I think that's how it works). I tried to make it as basic as I could,I know not many people like crowded webpages. Check it out: www.tiwelding.com let me know what ya'll think, just remember I'm a welder not a professional website designer
Reply:Oh and the programs I used was Web page maker and Adobe Photoshop CS5.
Reply:Is this something you feel any old dumb welder could do? I want to build a website for my business, but surfing this forum is about the extent of my computer skills.Beck's Welding and Fabrication, Inc.-Misc. Metals Fabrication & Installation-
Reply:Yeah I think so, I just started to get frustrated because I'm use to working at a faster pace. This is like tig welding maybe slower, it takes some time. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747
Reply:So all I need is Adobe web page maker? What do I do about a domain name?Beck's Welding and Fabrication, Inc.-Misc. Metals Fabrication & Installation-
Reply:Looks good. Nice and clean clean design. The only comment that I have is that for some reason on the services page, if I have Chrome's zoom setting turned up to about 125% (which is my browser is normally set), then the second column is cut off. Setting the zoom setting to 100% corrects this.BillLincoln v155-s with Tig Welder Ready Pack K2606-1One father's love of his autistic son www.inmyimage.com
Reply:Look good,But on the services page, what is a "hot shop"Well, I know what a hot shop is, but how is it a service?
Reply:I can tell you from experience, nowadys you dont really need to know very much if any html for simple and not so simple webpages.... Start researching on Content Management Systems (CMS for short) It will make you life much much easier. Worpress has developed into a very robust platform. I was very impressed with what it has turned into especially from an e-commerce standpoint. Here is a simple website I did for my stepbrothers fishing jig business.. https://www.necessityjigs.com/Last edited by brucer; 06-04-2013 at 04:51 PM.tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/

Reply:What your website actually looks like is not neay as important as how it is built and optimized for google and other search engines. I can't even begin to tell you all the back end requirements. All I know is that for most business owners, squarespace.com is the best one stop shop for learning how to build your own website using their templates. They are an awesome company. Can't recommend them strong enough.
Reply:Ranking in searches will get your name out there. We use both a WordPress blog and and two oscommerce stores which I've dialed in pretty Damn well and it makes a world of difference...spend the time learning what people are looking for, it helps a lot. Reply:I like your site and I can tell you took your time to make it nice. This is not a critique but advice from a internet marketer. Please don't take this wrong. it needs to be setup for SEO and it needs a blog so you can make entries with keyword focused articles. These keywords need to focus on your area of business and functions of business. Each article needs to focus on one keyword at a time. If you can try to migrate it over to Wordpress.Google loves Wordpress and keyword centered blog entries. I did some keyword research on your area and welding, trust me if you do this you will rank high in the first five positions for welders in your area.If you would like some more info please PM me.Century AC 100 stick (dead but trying to fix it)Everlast PA 160 STHhttp://www.riograndehatters.comhttp://www.texashatcleaners.com
