I'm able to get aluminum tubing for a decent price, so I came up with a design for bar stools and a table.  Surprisingly comfortable and has a sleek look to it.  Suggestions for improvement or comments welcome!  May consider putting a small, low profile back on the bar stools. Attached Images
Reply:Yeah..those are A nice padded backrest would be nice..Suggestion..Maybe rounded seats in the front?Be tough without bending tubing..How about 45 degree corners for about 6" or so..Square off the chair ends on the ground and add a support to the chair bottom from the middle of the added piece..Better safe than sorry.....zap!Last edited by zapster; 10-24-2011 at 10:25 PM.I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Nice design.  Curious how long  the stools will last, through repeated cycles.
Reply:I think if you squared off the base, and did a single upright from the center of the back part of the base to the center of the front of the seat you'd keep you "modern" look, and greatly increase the strength. There are no problems. Reply:I was thinking the base of the table looks a little too busy too. I like the base squaring idea and perhaps muti legs up from 2 tubes side by side flaring out to the table top? anyway thats my bla bla bla nice workMiller thunderbolt 250Decastar 135ERecovering tool-o-holic ESAB OAI have been interested or involved in Electrical, Fire Alarm, Auto, Marine, Welding, Electronics ETC to name a just a few. Reply:Rather than just pose criticism, I would say, very creative and good execution.  If you like it, good deal.  I think the set looks sharp.Lots of toys.
Reply:Looks really cool, but I'd be afraid to put my weight on those stools. Table looks solid.Lincoln Handy mig Longevity Stickweld140Hobart Handler 210
Reply:Thank you all for the suggestions and comments.  They will be taken into consideration!  They are surprisingly sturdy, but the "cycle" issue also crossed my mind.
