Reply:Jolin, welcome to the forum! Making buckets at Garier looks like some real welding! We love big construction welding. Post some pictures for us. As far as the new business goes for yourself, what specifics are you interested in? It will help if you can repair things locally, like your shop or a barn. But you also have to be mobile with a truck or trailer sometimes. You've started out right with used equipement instead of new. Alot of guys start with new equipment only to end up selling out after a few years. Remember, it will take you 3-5 years just to get your business name and reputation out there, so don't invest too much in equipment. It may be 10 years before you can be on your own. Just "do what you say can do" extremely well, and people will advertise for you. Keep your full time job at Garier because you'll need the income. Weld at home at night and on the weekends for customers. -later-MikeThurston WeldingHuntington, IN
