I have a guy willing to give me a nice newer model hot tub, the only catch is I have to get it out of his back yard. the only way out is down the side of his house over a bunch of 6-8 inch rock. also its got a bit of a side slope to it as well. The solution is my latest scrap metal creation. The only items I bought were the 8 wheels from HF $ 3.49 ea with coupon and the bolts/nuts/ spacers to attach them. i can tilt it left or right so when we are going down the side slope I can make the hot tub stand vertical . I will pull it with the trailer winch so just have to steady it across the rocks. Sat the 20th is the date I go get the tubused an old tailgate from a trailer that is just the right length 2 poles nested inside each other, a couple of milling machine handles, a bent 3 point draw bar and other scrap I had aroundLast edited by soutthpaw; 08-12-2011 at 09:52 PM.Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Customer of mine just got a hot tub from her sister who is moving. Her sis paid $800 for them to move it about 5 blocks. Unfortunately the concrete sub she "hired" didn't have the pad poured when they had to move it. I ended up getting some guys and pouring the slab and then moving the tub the rest of the way. Unit like this would have been nice. Not to hijack your thread soutthpaw. I though you might like a few ideas for yours. Few picts from the project since it involves steel.Braces I designed and fabed up a few years ago for a friend who used to do stamped concrete to do free form cantilevered steps that I helped develop with him. These allowed him to have a large area free of obstructions so they could stamp the surface while it's still soft.$1200 worth of 4ga 4"x4" wire mat and 2" chairs. Customer refused to have us cut the slab to prevent cracks even though we didn't recomend it. Poured 6" of 4000 mix with fiber and intergal color and then used throw on color for highlights and 4 different release colors. 1500 sq ft of patio. 35 yards including the 3 yds in the steps.Last edited by DSW; 08-12-2011 at 10:20 PM..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:A few finished picts. Seamless skin stamps, rough textured "rock" look. I built the stomne wall as well. Still need to finish that and wire up the new outdoor lights and outlets. Hot tub got filled today and is up and running. Customer loves it. Attached Images. No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Wow... that's genius. Moving hot tubs is terrible... free is too much after moving one. Something like this would make is real easy. Did you think about making the rear wheels steerable? Put a small electric motor on it and the move would be effortless I'll bet you loan this out a few times. Show us some pictures on moving day.To all the guys wondering why bother... working smart can really save your body. I try not to man handle anymore.
