So if any of you guys read my previous reviews you would know that I love my longevity 160sx tig welder. Same as the Eastwood tig welder. I guess having the 9 torch on my old diversion got me spoiled so I wanted to do that again instead of the bulky 17 torch. So I went to my LWS told them about my machine and what I wanted and ended up with a nice small torch, and super flex cable. The dinse plugs into the stick dinse connector and the fitting threads directly onto where the oem torch was.  Even though that dinse is for stick mode and the oem torch doesn't use a dinse they are connected together on the inside.  The machine is so much more enjoyable to use now. Now if only someone can retrofit a scc pedal that would be amazing!Pics, link and details and stuff to follow tomorrow, gotta get ready for work tonight.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:I'll drop them an email. ThanksFirst try with the new torch. It's a 17 torch but I'll be changing over to the 9 soon. Gotta get consumables for it first.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Seems like by the time you are done retrofitting it, It will have more American parts on/in it, then a Dynasty 200 My Thermal-186 is going that way with a. CK #20, and Miller cooler/coolant/  USA ground cables./ regulator/ hose connects/ adapters/ etc.. Reply:Looks good.  How are you liking the 200EX?
Reply:The 160sx is my go to machine for everything because it's simple and works on 110v. The 200ex is a great machine as far as performance is concerned. I didn't care for the stock torch that came with it (unless I am tacking stuff with the button) and the guys at HTP also made me a cable for that machine as well. Same cable and torch. EDIT: I guess I got excited and jumped the gun. The torch the guys at htp made for me do not fit the eastwood. It doesn't have the stick connector.EDIT EDIT: Got emailed, it's online nowhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Longevity-16...item2ec78bc59bLast edited by Gamble; 04-16-2013 at 05:04 PM.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Since joining this site I've never been happier to have bought a tired old machine, flipped the switch and start welding. All the time/money fiddling, blogging, videoing, posting, "unboxing"... could be spent learning the craft.Last edited by wendell; 04-16-2013 at 05:49 PM.Syncrowave 300Maxtron 450, S-52E, 30A

Reply:If I welded at 200amps a lot and had a water cooler I would probably own one already. We use the lincoln 175 with water cooled torches at school and it's a great feature.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer

Reply:it's even easier on the Eastwood.  you just take off the 17 torch and put on the 9 torch, lol.  The power/gas cable is the "wire inside the gas hose" kind with no dinse connector at all on the torch cable, and the 3/8"-24 external threaded nut on the torch side goes straight into the 9 torch on the other end. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:Originally Posted by Brand XThe Transformer machines really need the water cooler. They can't get too far over on the dc side, so way more heat into the torch. I noticed the Tungsten holding it's shape longer with a water cooled torch. (Inverter) Not a big deal, but kind of nice. Since I like the # 9 series about the best, the #20 is just a cool running #9. Even welding 1/8 aluminum  the torch gets hot. Keeping the wave balance at 20 on the Thermal too.. Can't get much farther over to the DC side.. (and make clean welds) I could not pull the Trigger on the 12.5 length, because  the first job I would try with it, would be 13 ft for sure..  Coolmate one will be here tomorrow, but the torch is setup right now..

Reply:Yes I know. I corrected it in an above post. I guess I jumped the gun.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Coolmate one is close to the same loudness as my Coolmate 3 (Miller made them for Binzell, only painted them white) Just a bit different sound. The AC arc is louder then the Thermal or Miller cooler. Great setup, and I would buy  it all again.  The arc quality with the fixed ft pedal, is a good as any previous Arcmaster 185-300 machines. Better, who knows? but just as nice IMO. Love the water cooled torch, so this project is done.. Well almost, just one more Western disconnect ordered to clean up the setup on it now..  Main thing I wanted is a compact setup that fits on my cart. Reply:Originally Posted by OscarJust wanted to point it out because you said it's "same as the Eastwood".  Well its not the same as the Eastwood in respect to the dense connector being needed.
Reply:I bought the HTP 17 series for my 200EX.  I upgraded to 25' and flex head torch.  HTP uses a CK torch.
