Every one says that I need AC to tig aluminum. My buzz box puts out 60 cycle AC at 50% positive and 50% negative. I would not be able to control the duty cycle (plus or minus) and it would not be a square wave but I bet a lot of the older transformer tig machines couldnt either so why not use my buzz box to tig aluminum. Just a thought.Dan
Reply:When the sinewave crosses at zero volts you lose your arc since you have no High frequency to sustain it. Also since you don't have a remote amp control while welding it going to make it hard to learn to contol your heat input. You could have answered your own ? if your start reading books or using the search function, welding also includes learning about the process before touching a machine.
Reply:Mind you, I haven't done it, but I read an article where a men took a ac buzzbox and a high frequency box. He used a gas valve torch and was happy with it.
