The mounting frame is off a little. First I had to remove the impeller drive, hoses wires....Then I unwelded the plate. I have to re use the plate.Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I burned off the welds with 5/32 carbon and machine set on "CAC Gouge" 250 amps. Never popped the 40 amp breaker. I had to cut and weld inside the box. After about 1/2 hour and a 4 1/2" grinder 3 wheels.Last edited by David R; 11-14-2011 at 05:05 PM.Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:"all welds done in position" ???You mean all the welds were done in the flat position (1F) and you tipped the workpiece all over the place to do so, or all the welds were done 'in position' of however the workpiece happened to be oriented, ie the welds were done "out of position" (3F vert-up it looks like mostly)? Aww, it was only off by about 1/4 inch or so. Sometimes, that -is- close enough! Sometimes, it ain't. BFH couldn't 'adjust' it to fit? Last edited by MoonRise; 11-14-2011 at 05:27 PM. Reply:Nice work. My dad bought a Bobcat snow blower this year, and the plate is crooked too. It is a real pain to hook up like that. Did the owner complain to Bobcat about it?
Reply:Moonrise,Ted Young told my dad "If you want to learn to weld out of position, stop turning things". Sort of like Hit the ball where it lies. Snowblower too big to mess with. Those are vertical up, 2 passes.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Did I read that wrong, or was it just 3/16" off? If so, THERE IS NO OTHER ADJUSTMENT FOR 3/16"? Like, the scraper bar, maybe???"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:The welds you made look fine, but what the hell is it supossed to be? The comments mention a Bobcat but my Bobcat 225 has nothing that looks remotely like that. I saw mention of snowblower but can't be for sure, never used or even seen one. Definately don't want to live anywhere where one is needed.

Reply:Its not necessarily the pins on the quick attach that get bound up. the tabs on the machine's quick attach (for example on our snow blower like this) the left tab lifts the blower and tips it not allowing the right tab to fit into the mounting plate. I have attached many attachments on our skid and this is the toughest because the blower's center of gravity is further out from the mounting plate than a dirt bucket for example.

Reply:I hook up attachments on the skid steer on hill sides, partially cleared ground etc. where it is off by 6-12" at times due to ruts under wheels, debris under attachment etc. Usually you can roll the "bucket" forward then just get one side under the lip and then raise the arms and it all falls into place. This gets harder as the COG shifts forward - my guess is that the blower's COG is far enough out front that it tips and makes it hard to line up the second edge.Hobart LX235Victor 250 Oxy-Acetylene Rig (welding and cutting)Bobcat 773F-350, 1999, 4x4, 16' 10K# trailerOutdoor Wood Burner - 10 cords/year
Reply:I am guessing the 3/16" is where the plate welds up, that would multiply as you get towards the ends where you hook in. Usually use snowblower where everything is flat and with weight out there a ways I can see ot not wanting to fall in place once lifted. Looks great by the way. I have never pulsed steel and those look like a bit of a weave or are they just straight stringers and letting the pulse keep puddle in place?Millermatic 252Lincoln 175 plusTA 185tswTA 161stlhypertherm pmax 45Victor torchHenrob torchAn S10 for each day of the week
Reply:skidloader attachment plates are pretty forgiving, they are made to work when things are not even. I believe the reason they needed to fix that plate was to make the whole snowblower sit flat on the ground in order to scrape clean the pavement or whatever your on.
