Finally starting to get how to TIG

So after many of you responded to my post about setting up my Syncrowave 250 dx, I thought i'd share some of my progress. Not the greatest, but hey, i'm finally starting to get it. Would love some constructive criticisms! Thanks guys. Really glad I found this site Attached Images
Reply:what size filler are you using? You might be better off with a smaller diameter filler, and make sure you get nice shiny steel before you weld on it. Looks pretty good in the middle though! Reply:continue to practice, hood time is needed..and start  doing some t joints...use the most heat when you begin  and back off from there as you go..to eliminate that cold start you are getting..you should be getting a nice puddle within 2 seconds of arc start, and go from there..

Reply:Cut yourself some 4x6 coupons, clean them, then run bead after bead tying into the last bead about 30-40%, when you have the majority of the coupon covered with stringers, cut it up into 1'' or so strips opposite of the direction of the stringers and then grind the edges smooth and then bend them(so the beads are on the outside) in a vice or or bench press, and do this until 1. you have nice straight consistent beads, 2. they tie into the last(previous bead) and your tie-ins from getting new filler or from stopping in the middle of a bead, 3. when you bend the strips there should be NO cracks or splits anywhere. Reply:I don't know about the bend test for aluminum, but running stringer after stringer will help you more than running a bead or two in the middle of a piece of scrap, make believe you are actually welding something important and you will get better and better, you can do these stringer plates in any position and I bet you will be much better after running 20 stringers, than running one bead on a piece of scrap at a time.
