hey guys, I'm still very new to tig and I'm trying to teach myself as much as possible. there are many online tig calculators that I can use to get amperage etc. but I was wondering if anyone knew of a good pdf or excel spreadsheet that I could print out to keep with my welder. I want to start keeping a notebook of what settings worked well on what and this would be the start of that note book. I'm looking for pretty basic dc and ac settings that you would get out of say millers tig calculator but in a chart or graph form. thanks for the helpKevin

Reply:One of the advantages of TIG is that you can fine-tune with the foot control. So, roughly 1 Amp for every .001 of an inch thickness is a good place to start.  Set the dial for about 5-10% more than that and go to town.Tungsten sizes.  size          cup       Amps - Ceriated DC.040 in #5       15–80    1/16 in #5-6    70–150       3/32 in #7-#8   150–250 1/8 in #8     250–400 Aluminum and AC depends on the AC and balance setting.See:http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...ints_tips.htmlThat's a good page in general.Recommend you spend the $25 and get Miller's student pack as well.Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX
