This will take a couple of posts, so please wait.I have a old cowboy friend who is kind enough to lend me the odd piece of equipment from time to time. Around here we have a lot of pipe fence and occasionally I need to do some repairs/upgrades that require a gas powered welder. My old friend has this welder that I usually have to load on a trailer to haul around. However, before I could start on the cart portion he went out and bought a 1000 lb (yeh right) Chinese cart. That's it in yellow. As you can see I cut four 1 1/5 pieces and welded them on with holes for the bolts to secure the frame.Next came the frame build. Used 1 inch square tubing sized to fit over the welder and into the card mountings. I bent four cable holders out of 1/2 inch rod for the sides. Then I built the beverage holder that you see attached. It's made out of 1/4 rod and is one of a few that I have built this way.Next came the light mounting. I've used the 1/4 inch hitch pins that we use on farming equipment for quick change stuff and it allows the light to be removed and repositioned at will. I also drilled a couple of extra mounitng holes in the light holder to allow it to be stored so it is inside the outer dimensions of the frame. It won't get bumped this way (I hope).More on the next posting.......Sign on East Texas payphone: Calls to God 40 cents......it's a local call...
Reply:Part two:Here is the light installed. I didn't put the guard on or install the buld yet. I wanted it to arrive at his place intact. This is the only in progress pics. This is the rod guard holder being assembled. Again used 1/4 rod for it. Also had some 16 gauge 1 inch stock for minor support but more to keep the holders from slipping out.Next one inch flat installed for mounting to the frame. 1/4 hole drilled for slip in pin.The yellow stick you see is a dip stick gas gauge. It's 3/4 inch so it fits its storage place as you can see and with the hitch pin it won't slip out when he is pulling this car with his quad over rough ground. Now wait for the third and final post please before commenting. And here's what it looks like before paint but with the holders installed. Had to buy them in blue to match the Miller. Here is the rod holder after paint and installed with the Rod Guards on the frame. You can see the pin that holds it in place. The pin has holes drilled in it for a hitch pin. The whole holder can thus be removed and taken elsewhere or mounted to the front of the frame so it can be handier to reach. I told him he just has to drill a 1/4 hole for the pin in any place he wants it.Sign on East Texas payphone: Calls to God 40 cents......it's a local call...
Reply:Part Three:Now for the beverage holder:This is built using the same techniques I described earlier. So this is the finished cart. Front viewSide viewRear view. I also had to weld a 2 inch piece of stock on the forward and rear portions of the 200 to mount it securely to the cart.....or rather the cart to it.My friend suffers from quite a few ailments, cancer being one of them. So whenever I can make life easier for him I try. He was quite please with his "Christmas present"Glenn.Sign on East Texas payphone: Calls to God 40 cents......it's a local call...

Reply:It looks very nice. I wouldnt want to pull it behind a four wheeler though.  I think it will tip over very easy.  You might spred the wheels apart about 8 inches. and beef up the axles. But it's something that will proove itself.  Mac
