Working with a lincoln ln25 on a Miller trailblazer 302, seems like the 5/64 may max out the welder on a 18 volt setting, not sure if this is correct but it almost looks like I should find smaller wire?Last edited by fast*st; 07-01-2013 at 07:03 AM.
Reply:Need more info dude.Lincoln makes (or currently lists) 21 different Innershield FCAW-S wires (I'm not going to go through the entire catalog and cross-check all 21 to see which come in 5/64 diameter).Step one for you : RTFM Seriously, check the manual/catalog to see what Lincoln recommends for the parameters for the specific wire and size.Lincoln's Innershield FCAW-S wires in 5/64 diameter can vary in their suggested parameters (quick check in the catalog for a few Innershield 5/64 wires) anywhere from ~30V and ~300 amps (Innershield NS-3M E70T-4 in 5/64 diameter, 29-33V and 280-350 amps and 200-300 ipm WFS parameter range, putting down ~10-15 lbs of metal per hour at 82-83% efficiency) down to ~16-23V and ~180-325 amps at 50-160 ipm WFS for Lincoln's NR-211-MP E71T-11 wire in 5/64 diameter, putting down ~3-10 lbs of metal per hour at ~83-89% efficiency.Innershield NR-203-MP E71T-8-J in 5/64 diameter lists parameters from ~16-23V and ~130-310 amps at 50-140 ipm WFS, putting down ~2-7 lbs/hr of metal at ~60-80% efficiency.Just saying '5/64 Innershield' is not enough info there bud. Reply:Egads, you're correct, downloading the catalog and will go double check the type of wire on hand. I wouldn't have thought so many options but its a new/used setup and did not realize it was such a buffet!
Reply:Are you just doing this for fun Because what your welding or the procedures dictate what wire you use and size wire and power input sometimes..pre heat, inter pass temp, etclook at the spec for what your weldingBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me What would SATAN do ?? Reply:Mostly in the line of fun, nothing critically structural or life safety, A little crack repair/ gusseting on snowplows, added a power angle to a york rake etc, I'll gather some data on the wire on hand, rtfm and circle back around. Its a new set of tools and far different than the usual light duty mig as far as options available.
Reply:That's pretty big wire to run for fun but for what your talking about doing go for it Gotta love the TB 302 it has a large range of capability i have a 12 RC for mine and do a lot of things with it as far as repair work goes it's like a big swiss army knife and mine is the airpak so it has a few more tools to useBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me What would SATAN do ?? Reply:I would be amazed if that trailblazer had the guts to weld that wire.
