My First Weather Vane

This is something a customer ordered.  I never built one before, but it was fun.He wanted the corvette, peace symbol, and all.  I hope that he likes it.He plans on painting it himself.The bracket for mounting is so that it can mount on the peak of a roof.  It is octagonal in shape (gazeebo) and I don't know the pitch of the roof.  I saw these for sale online for 25-60 bucks.  Decided to make it myself and save the money. Reply:Looks great. I have a metal shop nearby that will do CNC plasma cutting but I've never explored it.  How do they charge you- by the # of inches of cut? Total time? Reply:Not sure how much you designed around it, but is it mounted to the shaft at the center of gravity? Did you do any calculations for the center of pressure. Just curious as I've seen similar one's made that just so happen to have the center of pressure in the wrong spot and have the wind vane turn in the wrong direction. Just have to be sure the center of pressure is always aft the center of gravity.
