Good price for TA200?

Ive been looking for a small ac/dc inverter tig welder withiut much success until I came across a guy selling a new in the box TA Arcmaster 200 with the hand controlled tig package. He is asking $1700. Is this a good buy or should I continue my search?Thanks,Rgfab

Reply:Thanks for the response broccoli. I have been trying to find a 185 for several months with no success. I am familiar with the machines just unsure of their used value as I don't see many of them. What would be a good price to pay for a 200 in new condition? The ad says he is trying to clean out his shop and willing to negotiate price on some items. I'm not crazy about the new 186, mostly because its new. I want something with a long proven history. And the foot pedal issue is troubling as well. For now I don't want to go that route. -Rgfab

Reply:I was planning on ditching that big goofy torch for a water cooled setup anyway. Same guy is also selling a used TA foot pedal that I was going to see if he would throw in he is only asking $40 for it anyway. It is a 14 pin, but I could make an adapter for it or just whack the end off it and put a 8 pin on it I have a spare one from my LT300. I think I'll head up there when I get a chance and see if he is willing to deal. Thanks for the responses,Rgfab
