I have a Miller 350 LX with the full Tigrunner package and it is more than I need (hobby welder).  I've been reading around and noticed people mentioning trading in equipment at their local welding stores, but don't have any decent leads in my area.  I'm looking for a good MIG welder and possibly a plasma cutter.  Any suggestions in my area?  Thanks, Bryan
Reply:I recently bought a MillerMatic211 and Miller 375 XTreme Plasma Cutter from New Braunfels Welder's Supply here in New Braunfels. Might be a bit of a drive, but I've always been willing to drive a little ways for good customer service. Chris and the other folks at NBWS are top notch. Both machines ended up being a little cheaper than online and Miller had the Build With Blue promotion going on (I just got my check from them Saturday). They might do a trade in.New Braunfels Welder's Supply: http://nbwelders.com/  (830) 655-4484Build With Blue: http://www.millerwelds.com/landing/build-with-blue/Hope that helps. Best of luck.Brian
Reply:Thanks!  I'll give them a call in the morning.  You bought the same equipment I'm looking for.Bryan
Reply:I'm happy with everything so far. I didn't realize how much air is needed for the plasma. I ended up buying an 80 gal Campbell-Hausfeld compressor to run it. Probably overkill, but better to have too much than not enough. The little pancake compressors will run a plasma, but only for short cuts and if you do it too much you could burn one up pretty quick. Just something to think about for the plasma. Gotta have enough dry, filtered air.
