Need oxy-propane hose sizing suggestions

I'm switching to oxypropane for heating and cutting use on the service truck.  This torch won't normally cut more than 1" thick steel, but will also be used with whatever Smith's smallest propane rosebud is.  It will be fed from a 100-lb tank on the truck.  The torch will normally run a 50' hose, which will be a grade "T".  I'm trying to decide whether I need to go up to 3/8" dia hose from 1/4", which is what I have used in the past with oxy-acetylene.  Occasionally I'll add another 100' of hose to it for those far-away jobs, and that hose will definitely need to be 3/8".  If I have the first 50' in 1/4", will I be choking the torch down too much when I have to add in the extra 100'?  Thanks for any input you may have.
