I have to do some welding to do. Round rod with a bevel. I don't have any ER70s6 wire in .045. 1/16th is a little too big. Are there any down sides to using 308L .045? It's a little too convex with 1/16th.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer

Reply:Yes I'm tig welding. I think .030 wire, but it may be a little small. I would rather use .045. Would the 308L filler be stronger than mild steel wire? Or downside to using it?Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer

Reply:Ok. And 80DS is for chromoly right?I can't find anyone that sells a pound of this. Maybe 2lbs max.Last edited by Gamble; 07-30-2013 at 04:14 PM.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
