Hi guys new to the site, been lurking for awhile. I have been welding for a little over 8 years, all aluminum some steel. I hade welders years ago miller regency. Had to sell for some cash years ago and now I just use the millers at work. I'm looking to get another mig and tig. There's a guy selling a hobart ironman 210 with spool gun and tank for $1900. I feel that's real steep what would be a fair offer. Also what would be a fair offer for a 80's regency with spool gun looks near new. I never used hobart always miller, even Pugh there the same somewhat. I might lean more towards the regency cause I might want to do some portable welding. As far as tig I'm not sure not looking to spend a bunch of money. Most of this stuff will be for my personal garage work. Make metal sculptures, rails brackets and gates, etc. thanks in advanced for any advice.
Reply:Thanks for the reply. He has the spoolmatic 30a with it. He used it for aluminum and some steel as well. I'm just thinking if it would be worth it or just get a new but smaller 180 with smaller spool gun. The guys hurting for money but I don't want to insult him, at least not to much. I like the smaller machines for the portability. The thing just sits there in his shop. His work has been slow but he runs other welders. So the oldie gets benched. I believe it was a regency 250 now for a price offering. |
