For your Next Shelving Project--A new design!

Needed a set of shelves to sit onto of a desk that I built and thought what the heck let's go with unique and innovative.  This might provide a few ideas for your next set of supports.  Will probably have this powder coated black to match the desk. Cheers and best wishes for the New Year.
Reply:Nice. I've seen designs like this before. You might want to think about using a dimple die on the holes for future ones. Makes for a bit cleaner look and helps stiffen the metal. Not sure about the corner / ends though. I like the look of the top shelf, but the lower ones look a bit clunky. I might have notched the shelves so you keep that clean look  without having to see the connections, or thought about some sort of redesign. Having the "legs outboard of the shelf might be an option, but I'm not sure if I'd go that route..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I like it! I don't think any dimple dies wouldn't fit that (i know mine wouldn't). I like how you made all the pieces the same (shelves and "legs"). You could crank those out fast. Sell them in sets of three.www.performancealuminumfabrication.com
Reply:Thanks gents, here's what it looks like unpainted but set up on the desk. Don't think you could get dimple dies into 1X3 11 gauge rectangular tubing.  These will probably hold the heaviest thing on the planet.....National Geographic Magazines!

Reply:GraniteGuy-Thanks, I take my stuff to a local fellow that I believe is pretty reasonable I am guessing based on other stuff he has done for me that this will be about $65, I'll take it in with a headache rack that I am doing for my truck and have stuff done as a lot.
