Q on Blacksmith forge

Hey dere;Wanting to expand in to the world of metalworking with a old coal forge. Want comments from usage of forge, from what coal is best, to using tools. Love to learn. all the best

Lorelei Sims has a decent starter book, "The Backyard Blacksmith"http://www.blacksmithchic.com/book.htmShe's also in your neck of the woods and I believe does classes. Might be something worth looking into if you are serious about this. I'd like to take classes some time at a place in NJ that does classes, but the schedule never works with mine so far..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:How close are you to your neighbors?  A coal forge wouldn't go over too well in my neighborhood, although it sure is a nice thing to work with.Propane is a less smoky option. . .
