So far all the people on this fourm that I've seenthat has a suitcase is having great luck with theirs. Unfortunately I cant say the same. I've tryed it on two diffrent bobcats and a sa200. It works good when my amps are real high but if I try to dial it in the wire sticks to the tip and breaks at the rollers. Reply:It would help if we knew which one you have and how the machines are set up...If the suitcase is a VS type feeder, is the switch on the feeder set to CC or CV? Are you using solid or FC wire? On the Bobcat, are you trying to run the Bobcat in stick or mig mode?.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Originally Posted by aevaldHello cookie, with the description of your wire you should be running the welding power source in CV mode and set to reverse polarity, the feeder set to CV as well and I can't remember for sure, but if it has a wire polarity switch it should be set to + also, you should be using a mixed gas for shielding, preferably 75%Ar/25%CO2. As to machine settings: Voltage set to around 23 volts on the low end and likely 28 or so on the high end. Set the wire speed to provide for around 1/16" to 1/8" gap from where the wire is burning/pinching off and the surface of the weld pool is. Your wire type is not well-suited nor intended for welding on sheet metal, if that is what you are referring to in part of your original post where you say you can't get it dialed in. Good luck and regards, Allan

Reply:With Fluxcore you shouldnt need gas - i have to run with a little extra speed on the wire, seems to not burn back then. Been welding galvanized culverts and other than the normal issue with this metal it runs fine.
Reply:E71T-1 is a gas shielded flux cored wire. Even with .035 it is still a high deposition wire for doing heavy weldments and repair work. You need a roll of hard wire or a roll of  self shielding wire for the light stuff.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Yes Swamp rat but the OP is dealing with a dual shield wire (flux core w/gas).  That's why I posted the data sheet link.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
