This has probably been talked about before but i was curious how many people use the Lincoln viking 3350 hoods. I am currently trying out a new Jackson w60 Truesight and i like it alot but having to special buy the outside lenses is going to get old and expensive. My work carries clear lenses for millers and some jaskson hoods, im not sure about the lincoln hoods....for the price of a lincoln its hard to no look in to them but i have never used one and not many people if any have one where i work....just wanting some opinions on the three and pros/cons of them as well....Thanks!

Reply:Joe - Thanks, i have use a pipeliner with a miller auto in it for a while now and like it but sometimes its just nice to push a button to change shade ... i have noticed there does seem to be a bit more glare with this jackson hood but other then that i really like it .
Reply:I use a Pipeliner with a Miller A/D, also. I love it, but I do get flashed often when tig welding. So I might look into a four sensor hood in the future. Most likely I will look at the Lincoln's first. The Miller "head harness", looks complex!"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:I agree the new miller headgear is a little complex lol...but the new Jackson is pretty nice....I may just stick with my ol' trusty pipe liner .... do you wear wrangler shirts to weld in ?Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
Reply:No wrangler! Either a t-shirt with welding sleeves or a welding cloth or cloth/leather coat."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:I used a pipeliner fixed shade. And Wrangler and Carhartt shirts. Best hood, best shirts. I've used a Viking hood, didn't like the feel on my head. I've used a Miller Elite and it felt just like the Viking, though the headgear held more firm than the Lincoln. Never used a Jackson. Still won't beat the fibre metal with elastic gear, keep your pipeliner, ditch the auto dark. Might end up with a tigerhood and hard hat adapter for a new job. Haven't been able to fit the hat to my pipeliner very well. |
