this new company i started at today welds hydrogen fuel cells, or at least will be in a week or so. today we practiced all day welding 16gauge coupons. somtimes using filler. we practiced for a test we will be taking later this week fusing 18 gauge(i know dumb). fusing is easy enough, but they are asking for a perfect burn through on the root. heavy aluminum backing to reduce the sugaring to 0. it takes a lot of heat to burn all the way through the 16gauge and the perfect amount to keep the bead flat instead of concave. also help from god to keep the sugaring to nill. any helpfull hints? 3g downhill test w/ 18gauge stainless.
