I have a guy interested in trading me a goweld ( http://www.goweld.com/ ) battery operated wire welder which could be useful in and of its self . The price is pretty right from what i can see at $400 for a new unit but my question is will this work as a spool gun on my old aead miller cc machine ? Or would it just work from the batterys and forget the spoolgun useability ?
Reply:I think that is possible. SouthPaw on this forum is pretty handy with the GoWeld.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:Yes it will, we ran it from my powcon 300sm in CC mode and CV at weld o rama 2. It's pretty forceful on CC so don't plan on doing thin gauge in CC modeI do have one for sale that is basically new... under warranty still... same price you listed Sent w/ Tapatalk using Swype, pls excuse typosTiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Thanks for the Info ,I might talk to you about yours if this trade falls through on one from the springs craigslist . Right now the " no cash " trade sounds pretty good to me since its a couple of months till milo and corn money comes in .edited to add .. or hell it might be you i was texting with , i just noticed you are basicly in the springs LOL
Reply:Here. It's not much but I found a couple of videos of the go-weld from WoR. I have more somewhere but these were handy. I still need to post some of those videos and I promise, I'll do it as soon as I have a chance! As yoju can tell from the bottle of MGD in the foreground, that's Terry giving it the "Thumbs-up". Don't know if he was talking about the gun or the beer!!! Last edited by jlames; 09-22-2013 at 08:53 PM.
Reply:Thanks for the vid
Reply:I don't have mine on CL. Right now. In fact both of mine are at my in laws place in CA. I do have the Airco spoolgun listed here on the welding web marketplace. But it won't run off batteries. Needs a C C welderSent w/ Tapatalk using Swype, pls excuse typosTiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Ahh ok , Well from what i can see online the units seem to work fairly well and for small jobs it would be handy to throw a couple of batterys in the back of the polaris and be back before i could have gotten the miller loaded . That it will function as a spool gun is pretty much a bonus . Ill just have to see if this fella follows through or not because as of now its a convenience not a necessity for me . and yea i realize that i can do the same thing with a stick electrode as far as that goes but i wouldnt mind having a little something to mig with .
Reply:Only thing to remember is the Go weld is always hot. No contactor in itSent w/ Tapatalk using Swype, pls excuse typosTiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Yea i saw that it was " hot tip " from what i have read/watched . That really isn't a problem because most of my experience is with a stick welder anyway so i haven't developed any habits of letting stuff have a lot of unintentional contact with the work .
Reply:Terry killed off a couple tips till he got the hang of pulling away and releasing trigger at same time. The Airco unit I have does have a contactor in it.
