Finally got around to making a tool that will fit any size oil filter and any size oil pan plug.....all-in-one.  My favorite style oil filter wrench is the "strap wrench" style.  so easy to make!  I decided to weld a couple additions on in order to take the plug out of the pan as well.  This one tool is all you need to do a complete oil change.  Love this tool.  BTW.... don't judge my welds too harshly.  for some reason, I wasn't on my game tonight..... a little grinding and paint will cover up my over kill welds.   I made a video on how I made it and put it on you tube.  The welding part comes towards the end of it (sorry). That's where I add the extras.  If you're interested in making one, check it out.  [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J-YWVDcjZs[/ame] Attached Imageshttp://www.youtube.com/user/c599209/videos
Reply:Well, regardless of weld quality it's a fine idea.  Sorry, I only looked at the pic and didn't take the time to watch the video. Now you need to expand it to include a drain pan and funnel so it's truly all-in-one.

Reply:I like it. That's a really good idea!Around here though, it's only a few bucks more to take my vehichles in for oil changes than it is for me to do it at home. Plus they grease all the zerks and check/top off all other fluids.Safety 3rdGump

Reply:Looks good. I built one of those tools, minus the extension. You can also use a 3/4" open end wrench to turn the tool, plus the ratchet and screwdriver.I might add the 3/8" extension to mine, too. I probably won't use a good quality extension like you did (I'm too cheap), but rather a "Horror freight" type....A comment I'll add for others, is that the seatbelt material can be obtained for free from most autobody repair shops, from damaged seatbelts. They normally throw them away.Campbell Hausfeld 80 Flux Core.Mastercraft AC-230 Buzz box.
