As I was looking into getting the used Speedglas 9002x helmet there seemed to be one small but annoying common problem, the 9000 and 100 series hoods tended to not stay in the raised position . This was the case with the used one I just got so I called 3M / Speedglas and found out there is an upgrade to fix the problem. I ordered the kit and installed it. I am happy to report that it works great the helmet stays up until I need to lower it now.The best part is that its a cheap and easy fix. Here is the part numberH0304-0064-00 the kit cost $4.95 and consists of heavy duty replacement parts for the pivot adjustment hardware.I ordered mine from the local Airgas store but they are available from any LWS that has 3M / speedglass helmets.
