My son in law has a shop in milwaukee, Two Guys Automotive. He asked me to build a tool tray for his hf 20 gallon tank / drain thingie. I used 3/4 inch square tube, rolled it to shape. Cut a pan out of 16 ga steel. The frame in version two has hooks on the ends. The assembly attaches to a clam shell bracket that is bolted together at the top of the tank. On the bracket are two pieces that act as a reciever for the shelf. The shelf is hooked to the two recievers and rests against the tank at the bottom as you see in the pics. The shelf can then be removed if needed just by lifting up and unhooking it. Reply:The hooks on the frame are 3/4 inch by 1/8 inch steel, hook ends are bent down and the lower ends are bent upwards. The upward bends at the bottom allow for adjustment of the level. If you bend the lower part out a bit, it lifts the front edge of the pan to level position. Version two came out better with some minor mods. Fun and easy project. Son-in-law and his partner are very pleased they have a place for their tools when doing oil changes. Any thoughts? thanks for your input in advance. PS, man do i love the 211! Reply:True that! I got one of those hf tubing rollers. It comes with dies for round tube, but you can get a set of dies for 1/2 inch square tube for 50 bux. If i had a lathe i could potentially widen them to 3/4 but i dont so I ordered a set of really nicely made dies for 3/4 inch square tube from swagoffroad.com They cost as much or more than the roller but it comes with a new axel and much improved set screws (six or 8 i think).Miller diversion 165Miller mig 211Hypertherm pm 30Milwaukee 6230 14 inch chop sawMd 45 mag drill (RIP; fell on its head)New MD 45! Reply:Thats them. The machine is awesome, but plan on revamping the set screw system on the dies and turn handle. All well covered if you search threads on this forum or google it.
