Reply:I think I spend to much time on the internet, I knew the exact video in reference before I even opened the thread. Have we all gone mad?

Reply:I didn't see anything about cutting pipe in the video.I laughed when he changed voltage while the mig machine was running. Sean did everything wrong he could as it was meant to get people talking about the video. This video has gotten a lot of plays and it was designed to do so. It was a college prank.
Reply:The guy cutting the pipe was just practicing for a rodeo he had coming up the following weekend.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.

Reply:Pipe stress!! I have had similar things happen but I wasn't sitting on the pipe, thank goodness!! I have seen pipes "jump" a couple of feet when they are taken apart. Of course I was told that there was no stress on any of the components, yeah right!. You learn to get out of the line of fire when pulling that last bolt or cutting that last cut. It will scare the **** out of you, no doubt. I have also installed pipe stress pulling piping together with chain falls and comealongs because the plant didn't want to cut things apart to get it right. Cost effectiveness crap. A man needs to know his limitations!
Reply:What a welding lesson Clearly he is a proffessional with many hours of experience
Reply:Originally Posted by DiabolicZDoes this mean the college prank backfired? Cause now clearly, everyone is laughing at him. Not whoever the prank was intended for. I think the only thing that helps him out, is that he edited the video to say "how NOT to weld.." |
